Brandi Schwane joined the UNC staff as an athletic trainer in the fall of 2018. Her primary clinical responsibility at UNC is with the women’s soccer program.
Schwane earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in exercise and sports science with a specialization in athletic training from the University of North Carolina in 2009 and 2011, respectively. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer, she worked with the men’s soccer, men’s & women’s tennis and fencing programs.
Prior to joining UNC, Schwane was a part of the athletic training staff at William & Mary from 2011-18, working with men’s and women’s basketball, track & field, football and cheerleading throughout her time there. She also served as a clinical preceptor for students from Western Carolina University’s Athletic Training Educational Program.
Schwane has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2007. Her clinical interests are manual therapy, dryneedling and post-operative rehabilitation.
Schwane is a North Carolina native who currently resides in Chapel Hill with her husband and two sons.
