Injured in his first match of the 2016-17, missing the remainder of the year • Finished with an 18-9 overall record and an NCAA bid at 125 pounds as a true freshman at Cornell • Unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection • Upset 11th-seeded Ronnie Bresser of Oregon Sate in the NCAA first round • Placed fourth at 125 pounds at the 2016 EIWA championships, losing a pair of matches to NCAA qualifier Zack Fuentes of Drexel • Went 3-2 at Southern Scuffle, including dropping a tight 3-1 contest to then-No. 12 Zeke Moisey of West Virginia • Topped then-No. 8 Barlow McGhee of Missouri 7-6 in a road dual • Won 10 of his 18 matches by bonus point decisions, including five falls.
