Tar Heels Release 2017 Fall Schedule

CHAPEL HILL—Head coach Jenny Levy has released the North Carolina Tar Heels' 2017 fall schedule, a slate that includes three exhibitions in Chapel Hill, two in nearby Durham and two in Baltimore.
Carolina will open its fall ball schedule on Saturday Sept. 30 with a pair of scrimmages in Durham.  The Tar Heels will face Elon at 11 a.m. and Duke at noon. The following weekend, Carolina will host Atlantic Coast Conference rival Notre Dame in an exhibition starting at 10 a.m. at Finley Fields in Chapel Hill.
The following weekend, UNC will travel to the Baltimore area for a pair of exhibition contests. On Saturday Oct. 14, the Tar Heels will meet Penn State in Baltimore. In 2016, the Tar Heels beat the Nittany Lions in the NCAA semifinals in Philadelphia on the way to winning the NCAA championship. The following day on Oct. 15, Carolina will play at Towson at 11 a.m.
UNC will conclude its fall season on the weekend of Oct. 27-28 at Finley Fields, hosting new program East Carolina on Friday the 27th at 3:30 p.m. The Pirates are a new program led by former Tar Heel goalie Amanda Barnes, who was an assistant coach at Duke prior to taking the reins of the new ECU program.Â
On Saturday Oct. 28, Carolina will hold its annual alumnae scrimmage, pitting the current Tar Heel team against returning former players.Â
