CHAPEL HILL—Tar Heel Express Shuttle Service for Sunday’s basketball game vs. North Carolina State will only operate from the Friday Center park and ride. All other locations (Southern Village, Airport Drive, Jones Ferry and Carolina Coffee Shop) will be closed.
Shuttles will begin at 11:30 a.m. and provide continuous and fully accessible service, running between the Friday Center park and ride and the Dean E. Smith Center until tip-off. Shuttles will operate for approximately forty-five (45) minutes following the game. Shuttles drop off and pick up on Bowles Drive in front of the Dean E. Smith Center.
Shuttle rides are $5 for a round-trip or $3 for a one-way trip.
Please note that weather and street conditions could delay buses and/or increase the travel time from the park and ride to the Smith Center. Buses will follow normal routes and schedules as long as the streets are safe for travel. If there is a significant accumulation of snow, ice or freezing rain, detours and/or closures may occur.
Please be very cautious when traveling to and from bus stops and when stepping on and off buses as there is still snow and ice around many stops. We will also be monitoring street conditions and any additional changes, if necessary for safety reasons, will be announced.
