The U.S. Women’s National Team begins its quest for the fourth Olympic gold medal in the program’s history when it opens the 2012 London Olympics against France on Wednesday, July 25, at the famed Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

The U.S. Team features a pair of former Tar Heel greats — Heather O'Reilly and Tobin Heath.  O'Reilly, UNC Class of 2007, is playing in her third Olympic Games, having won gold medals in both 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing.  Heath, a midfielder from the Class of 2010, also played on the 2008 gold-medal winning team in China.

The match, which kicks off at 12 p.m. ET, will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus TV) and the NBC Olympic Soccer Channel. Fans can follow the match via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and on Twitter @ussoccer_wnt.
