CHAPEL HILL --- Gina Suarez-Malaguti defeated teammate Whitney Kay in straight sets to win the Black draw final of the Duke Fab Four Invitational Sunday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Play was moved to the UNC facility after inclement weather made courts at the Cary Tennis Park unplayable. Tessa Lyons defeated No. 20 Aeriel Ellis of Texas, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 10-8, in a Black draw consolation match.
In the Blue draw third-place match, Zoe De Bruycker defeated No. 44 Mary Clayton of Duke, 6-7 (6), 6-2, 13-11. Laura Slater also won a three-setter in Blue draw consolation action, taking out Purdue's Krisztina Kapitany, 7-5, 0-6, 11-9.
