CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina head wrestling coach C.D. Mock announced his squad's 2012-13 schedule Thursday.
The Tar Heels will host seven duals throughout the season, including a visit from Arizona State for the home opener on Nov. 9.
Carolina will bring its annual Blue/White Wrestle-Off to the Pit on the Chapel Hill campus Oct. 15 before opening the season at the Hokie Open in Roanoke, Va. on Nov. 4.
After the visit from the Sun Devils on Nov. 9, the Tar Heels will head to Lincoln, Neb. for a pair of duals against South Dakota State and the host Nebraska.
A trip to State College, Pa., for the Nittany Lion Open will open the month of December before the squad breaks for exams.
The Tar Heels will return to action Dec. 29-30 at the 50th annual Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. The wrestlers will have a busy week as they will head to the annual Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Jan. 1-2.
A trip to the Virginia Duals in Hampton, Va. will precede the ACC opening weekend when Virginia and Virginia Tech come to Chapel Hill on Jan. 18 and 19.
The following week will see the Tar Heels head to Maryland to face Navy (Jan. 25) and Maryland (Jan. 26).
Carolina will close out the year with home duals against NC State (Feb. 1) and VMI (Feb. 8) before heading to Duke for the final conference dual of 2013 on Feb. 12.
The Tar Heels will then close out their home schedule Feb. 17 when they host the Carolina Duals with The Citadel and Campbell coming to Carmichael Arena.
The 2013 ACC Championships will be held March 9 in College Park, Md., while the NCAA Championships will be hosted in Des Moines, Iowa March 21-23.
