2011-12: Starter at 157 • Earned a 26-10 record • NCAA Championships Participant • Beat Cameron Hurd of Virginia Tech before falling to Kyle John of Maryland in the ACC Championship to place second • Placed third at the Hokie Open after going 4-1 • Wrestled to a fifth place finish at the Southern Scuffle by going 4-2 • Went 5-2 at the Cliff Keen Invitational with two pins to place seventh • Recorded seven major decisions, two technical falls and four pins • Had the most major decisions of any Tar Heel in 2011-12 • Posted the best ACC record on the team at 4-0.

Prep: Won four state titles during career at Chapel Hill High School, becoming the first four-time 4A state champion in NCHSAA history • Finished career with 191-9 record • Named to All-America team twice • Trained at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., as a freestyle wrestling resident athlete for one year after high school.
