General

Three-year starter for the Tar Heels • has started on the flank in the midfield the past two years • has started 58 of 61 games in her career, including all 38 games she has played in the first two years • has battled through injuries her first two seasons • started her freshman year on defense, earning multiple conference and national honors • also saw time in the midfield and even subbed in at forward on occasion as a first-year player • played for the U20 National Team in 2010 at the World Cup in Germany.

Junior Season (2012)

Played in all 23 games and earned starting assignments on 20 occasions • started the first 17 games of the seasons, came off the bench in the next three and then started the final three games of the NCAA Tournament • logged a total of 1,356 minutes • had a goal and six assists for eight points • scored her second career goal in the opening minutes of the game at Duke • that game-winner was her first goal since she scored the game-winner her freshman year against Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals • had two assists in the win over San Diego • had the game-winning assist against Clemson • also recorded assists versus Marquette, Miami and Illinois.

Sophomore Season (2011)

Played in and started 19 games her sophomore year • missed only the season opener at Nebraska • was amongst the team leaders in minutes played with 1,415 • recorded a pair of assists, one in the win over Houston and another on the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Clemson • was named a CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week on October 18, 2011 • named the GoHeels.com Tar Heel Performer of the Week on October 18, 2011 after leading UNC to shutouts of Duke and Wake Forest • named by Top Drawer Soccer To Its Preseason Top 100 list for 2011.

Freshman Season (2010)

Merited ACC All-Freshman Team status • second-team Top Drawer Soccer All-Rookie Team choice • captured second-team Soccer America All-Freshman Team honors • named to Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on September 20, 2010 • named to All-Tournament Team at the 2010 ACC Tournament • All-Tournament Team selection at the Duke Nike Classic • started all 19 games she played but missed five games mid-year after being injured late in the Boston College game • played 1,950 minutes • assisted on Meghan Klingenberg's game-winning goal in the season opener at Texas A&M • scored her first career goal against Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, the game-winner in a 4-2 victory.

Prep

Graduated on June 24, 2010 from Montclair High School • played four years of varsity soccer there as well as two years of lacrosse • also ran track for a year • earned first-team All- NJSIAA League honors all four years in high school • first-team All-Essex County from 2006-09 • N.J. state high school player of the year in 2009 • first-team All-State selection in 2009.

Personal

Meagan Alexandra Morris is the daughter of Jackie and Larry Morris • was born May 11, 1992 in Montclair, N.J. • exercise and sports science major • has volunteered with Special Olympics over the last six years while also coaching youth soccer athletes and mentally disabled soccer athletes.
