UNC Hosts Play 4Kay Vs. Pittsburgh On Thursday

NOTE: ESPN3 will not broadcast the game between North Carolina and Pittsburgh. The audio broadcast of the game will be available like normal.

CHAPEL HILL - No. 17/10 North Carolina hosts Pittsburgh for the very first time on Thursday at 6 p.m. Thursday marks the annual Play 4Kay game presented by United Health Care at Carmichael Arena.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink and help the Tar Heels help raise awareness for the fight of breast cancer. Members of the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation are expected to be in attendance at the game.

This will also be the final "Throwback Thursday" of the season, featuring 80s music by DJ Forge, 1/2 price concessions and pink retro shirts for the first 250 UNC students.

Free tickets are available to all breast cancer survivors and 1/2 price tickets for their guests.

Carolina's busy week continues with its first game versus the Panthers since all the way back in January of 1981, a 79-67 Tar Heel setback in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Tar Heels snapped a three-game losing streak on Monday with a resounding 89-78 victory at No. 3 Duke, marking the first win for UNC at Cameron Indoor Stadium since 2008.

The first trip for the highly-talented Tar Heel freshmen class will go down in the history of the rivalry as Diamond DeShields and Allisha Gray combined for 54 points in the victory. DeShields' 30 points was the most scored against the Blue Devils since 2009, helping snap a five-game losing stretch in Durham.

Xylina McDaniel tossed in 17 points. She made her first five shots of the game, scoring 12 points in the first half to stake Carolina to a 45-36 lead at halftime. Gray did most of her damage after intermission with 19 points. DeShields had an even 15 points in each half.

UNC will play its next two games on the road, beginning with Sunday at No. 10 NC State on ESPN2. Tip time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., in Raleigh.

The Tar Heels next home game on Feb. 23 vs. Virginia Tech will be Rameses' 1st annual birthday party, featuring face painting,an airbrush tattoo artist, a halftime mascot basketball game and much more fun.
