FLORIDA STATE SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 31-9 all-time against Florida State, including a 14-4 mark in Tallahassee.
• Carolina won the first meeting of 2013 in Chapel Hill on Jan. 31, 72-62.
• Florida State defeated Carolina in its first ACC game against the Tar Heels, but the Noles have won just six times in 36 tries since.

CHAPEL HILL --- No. 14 North Carolina opened on a 6-0 run and never trailed as the Tar Heels beat Wake Forest for the 10th straight time, 76-56, Thursday night at Carmichael Arena. Xylina McDaniel had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Carolina, while Tierra Ruffin-Pratt added 13 in just nine minutes. Carolina (23-3, 11-2 ACC) used its swarming defense to stifle the Demon Deacons early, keeping the visitors from attempting a field goal for nearly three minutes to open the game. Wake had pulled within six at 22-16 before the Tar Heels went on a 17-4 run that effectively put the game away before halftime.
HATCHELL MAKES HISTORY WITH 900TH, 901ST WIN
With the win over Boston College on Feb. 7, Sylvia Hatchell became just the third women's coach in history to reach 900 career victories. Three days later, Hatchell, who enters Sunday's game with a career record of 902-317 in 38 seasons, passed Jody Conradt for second all-time in career wins. Only Pat Summitt (1,098) has won more games as a women's coach than Hatchell, who is also the active leader in wins, three ahead of Rutgers head coach C. Vivian Stringer's 899.
