Tough, athletic post who immediately entered the starting lineup and become one of the team's top interior threats • Started 33 games and averaged 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest • Named ACC Rookie of the Year, the first Tar Heel to win that award since Camille Little in 2004 • Also earned first-team All-ACC honors from the league's head coaches and second-team honors from the Blue Ribbon Panel • Also named to the ACC All-Freshman team • Earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors a league-best six times • Ranked in the top 15 in the ACC in steals (sixth), blocks (10th) and rebounds (14th) • Scored in double figures on 21 occasions and grabbed double-digit rebounds five times • Had three double-doubles on the year, including 18 points and 12 rebounds in her Carolina debut against Davidson • Also had 15 points and 14 boards in the Preseason WNIT title game win over Iowa to earn all-tournament honors • Just missed a double-double in the win over NC State on Feb 24 with 15 points and nine boards • Had a career-high 25 points at Florida State on Feb. 17 • Finished 9-of-14 from the field against the Seminoles • Scored at least 10 points in 13-of-18 league contests • Was a bright spot in the loss at Tennessee, finishing with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
2010-11 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year • South Carolina Coaches' Association 4A player of the year as a senior • Three-time 4A all-state selection who averaged over 18 points and eight rebounds per game • 2012 McDonald's All-America and WBCA All-America selection • Rated the No. 6 forward and the No. 25 player overall by ESPN HoopGurlz • Helped lead Spring Valley to 4A state championships in 2009 and 2011 • In addition to being one of South Carolina's top five players each of the last four seasons on the hardcourt, she also broke the state record in the shot put as a track and field athlete • Daughter of former NBA All-Star Xavier McDaniel and Michele Day Anderson.
