JUNIOR SEASON 2013-14
Continued to expand her presence on the court in third season at North Carolina • After missing first three games of the season due to a pre-season leg injury, appeared in the remaining 34 games of the season and made two starts • Averaged a career-best 5.9 points to go along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game • Shot 51.0 percent from the field and 42.6 percent (6 of 14) from distance • Set a career high with 20 points at Georgia Tech on Feb. 6 • Contributed 11.3 ppg in her first three games of the season • Had 11 points, nine rebounds, eight steals and five assists in only 23 minutes in the 124-41 win over New Orleans on Dec. 16 in Myrtle Beach • The eight steals was the most by a Tar Heel player in four years.

SOPHOMORE SEASON 2012-13
Incredible athlete who made great strides as a sophomore to become one of the team's most valuable bench players • Appeared in all 36 games and averaged 4.7 points per game • Also added 4.6 rebounds per contest and was fifth on the team with 41 steals • Scored a season-high 10 points on three occasions • Started three games, including the ACC contest at Florida State on Feb. 17 • Provided perhaps the most exciting moment of the 2013 ACC season when she beat the buzzer with a jumper to help the Tar Heels knock off Miami, 64-62, on Jan. 27, the Hurricanes' first home loss to a league opponent since 2010 • Also added a career-high 11 rebounds in the win at Miami • Just missed her first career double-double against North Carolina Central on Dec. 12, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds • Opened the season with a bang, scoring 10 points in 20 minutes in the win over Davidson.

FRESHMAN SEASON 2011-12
Athletic guard who played at several different positions as a freshman • Has tremendous natural rebounding ability and a nose for the ball • Appeared in 29 games and started three, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.2 minutes per game • Just missed a double-double in her first career game, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds against Gardner-Webb • Finished with 12 points against UNC Greensboro on Nov. 16 • Scored in double figures in back-to-back games, including 16 in her first career start against Lipscomb and a career-high 17 against East Tennessee State • Finished with 10 points in the win vs. ECU on Dec. 20 • Had eight rebounds in a pair of ACC games - at Virginia Tech on Jan. 19 and at Miami on Feb. 8 • Had one of her best games of the season against Clemson in the ACC Tournament, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds in just 17 minutes.

PREP/PERSONAL
Led South Central High School to a 3A state championship as a senior • FILA All-American • Played in both the East-West and North-South All-Star games, earning MVP honors in the North-South game • Scored over 2,000 career points as a prep, setting school records in both points and rebounds • Three-time state championships all-tournament team selection • U.S. Junior Nationals participant • Two-time NCPreps All-State team and NCBCA All-District 3 • 2011 NCPreps 3A Player of the Year • Three-time Daily Reflector Player of the Year • Also an accomplished track athlete in high school • MVP of the state 3A track championship, winning the triple jump, high jump, 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays • Ranked the No. 14 wing in the country and the No. 79 player overall by ESPN HoopGurlz • Danielle Nicole Butts is the daughter of Gwendora Purvis and Anthony Butts • Born July 23, 1992, in Durham, N.C.
