Carolina Enters National Poll At No. 22

LEXINGTON, Ky. - North Carolina entered the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Poll in the No. 22 spot, the association released Monday afternoon. 

Receiving 187 votes, UNC is in the top 25 for the first time this season, although the Tar Heels have received votes in each of the 12 polls so far this season. 

Carolina is 21-4 overall and 12-3 in the ACC following a successful 2-0 weekend against two ranked teams. On Friday, UNC swept then No.23 Miami, and on Saturday the Tar Heels came back from a set one loss to top No. 11 Florida State 3-1

North Carolina is now in second place in the ACC behind Florida State and Miami (13-2). The Tar Heels have won eight straight matches and remain undefeated (12-0) at home this season. 

UNC travels to Georgia Tech for a match on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and then faces Clemson on Saturday at 6 p.m. Stay tuned to GoHeels.com for more information on the UNC volleyball team.
