Following seven years on the rowing staff at North Carolina, Stephen Frazier Wong has been named the head women’s rowing coach at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Frazier Wong has coached the novice squad throughout his time at UNC and in 2009 was promoted from assistant coach to associate head coach. He becomes the third head coach in Nova Southeastern’s rowing history, which dates back to 2004.
“It is hard to put into words the impact that Stephen has had on this program,” UNC head coach Sarah Haney said. “He has consistently produced successful crews who love the sport of rowing. Each class has been able to make significant contributions to our team, which is the mark of a talented novice coach.
“Although we are sad to see Stephen leave, we are all excited about this opportunity and for him and his family. I know he will lead his crews to be a high caliber of success.”
Haney will conduct a national search for a new member of her staff.
