EUGENE, Ore. - Clayton Parros placed fifth in the second heat of the men's 400 meters at the NCAA National Championships on Wednesday evening with a time of 46.69 but will not advance to the final.
Parros placed 18th overall in the semifinal. The top two runners from each heat plus the next fastest two advance to the final from the semifinal.
Parros, a senior, advanced to four consecutive NCAA National Championships during his career at Carolina. He received his bachelor's degree in May and will be pursuing graduate school and a career in coaching in addition to his future on the track.
Carolina will continue competition at the NCAA National Championships on Thursday when Lianne Farber takes the track at Historic Hayward Field in the women's 1,500 semifinal. Her race will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST.
The Pac-12 will provide live streaming video for all four days of competition. For June 6-8, ESPNU and ESPN3.com have picked up select hours. A full broadcast schedule is available below:
