CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina track and field teams will split across three meets this weekend as they look to continue and improve upon their early season successes.
The Tar Heels will host the Gene Anderson Invitational on Saturday, February 2nd, at the Eddie Smith Field House. Events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. The meet is free of admission and fans are invited to attend. Distance runners Isaac Presson and Steve Magnuson will compete at the JDL Mile Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., by an elite invitation of top mile-runners in the region. Running events begin for the meet on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Half of the team will also travel to New York City for the Armory Collegiate Invitational where over 100 of the top teams in the world will be in attendance (a full list is below). Carolina's men and women will face a combined 18 top-25 teams at the meet hosted at the New Balance Track & Field Center. Colleges from Ireland, Canada, Puerto Rico and France will also be competing at the collegiate meet. FloTrack will stream the meet live with events beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
