The University of North Carolina track and field program announced their 2012-13 indoor and outdoor schedule on Tuesday, adding to the excitement of Harlis Meaders' first year as the head coach of the Tar Heels.
The Tar Heels will host five meets, including three indoor and two outdoor. Carolina will open both the indoor and outdoor seasons at home in addition to traveling to some of the most widely renowned meets in the country. The indoor season sees trips to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City, Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational, and the University of Arkansas for both a last chance qualifying meet and the NCAA Indoor National Championships. The 2013 ACC Indoor Championships will be held in Blacksburg, Va.
The outdoor season boasts meets at Texas, Florida, Stanford and the world-famous Penn Relays in addition to meets at several ACC foes. The 2013 ACC Outdoor Championships will be held in Raleigh, N.C. The NCAA East Regional will take place in Greensboro, N.C. where Carolina will be eligible to compete for a berth to the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, which move back to TrackTown USA in Eugene, Ore.
