XC Ready For Wisconsin Invitational

MADISON, Wis. - The University of North Carolina cross country teams are set for the 2012 Wisconsin adidas Invitational which has come to be regarded as one of the most elite collegiate regular season races in the country. This year should prove no different, as a total 38 ranked teams will be in attendance alongside the Tar Heels at Friday's race.

The Carolina women are among 49 teams, of which 20 are ranked including three top-five teams. Atlantic Coast rivals No. 21 Boston College, Duke, No. 26 NC State and Virginia will also be racing at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The women's 6K Championships Race kicks off at noon central (1 p.m. EDT).

The Carolina men are racing amid 46 teams, 18 being ranked including four in the top five in the USTFCCCA polls. No. 29 Virginia and NC State are the ACC opponents in the mix for the men's side. The men's 8K Championships Race starts at 12:40 central (1:40 EDT).
