UNC-Kentucky Postgame Notes

• Carolina is now 7-2 overall and 3-0 against teams ranked in the Top 11 of the AP poll.

• The Tar Heels now lead the series against Kentucky, 23-13. Roy Williams is 8-7 against the Wildcats, including a 7-4 mark against UK as Carolina's head coach.

• Sophomore guard Marcus Paige led all scorers with 23 points, 21 of which came in the second half. It was the most points in a half by a Tar Heel since Reggie Bullock had 21 in the first half vs. Maryland on Jan. 19, 2013.

• It was the fourth time in nine games this season that Paige scored 20 or more points. Paige has scored in double figures in all nine games this season.

• Paige is 21 for 21 from the free throw line this year in two wins over Louisville and Kentucky.

• Junior forward James Michael McAdoo had 20 points, five rebounds, a team-high four assists and two steals. Today was the first time in his 88-game career at UNC that he led UNC in assists.

• McAdoo was 12 for 19 from the free throw line. The 12 made free throws are a career high and the 19 attempts match his previous high.

J.P. Tokoto made 7 of 10 field goals en route to 15 points. It was his fifth double-figure scoring effort of the season. The seven field goals and one three-pointer tie his career highs in those categories.

• Tokoto is now 23 for 38 from the floor in the last four games (.605).

• Carolina held a 20-10 advantage in points off turnovers and 14-4 in fast break points. Kentucky had a 19-12 edge in second chance points.

• The Tar Heels shot 56.7 from the floor in the second half. They also shot 56.7 percent from the floor in the second half against Louisville and 51.7 percent in the second half at Michigan State.

• UNC was a combined 49 for 89 from the floor in the second halves vs. Louisville, Michigan State and Kentucky (.551)

• Carolina shot 48.2 percent from the floor for the game, the highest any opponent has shot in a game this year against UK (previous was 47.6 percent by Michigan State).

• The Tar Heels scored 82 points, the most allowed by Kentucky this year (previous was 78 by Michigan State).

Marcus Paige (23) and James Michael McAdoo (20) both scored 20 points in the same game for the first time this year.

• Kentucky's 43 free throw attempts are the most by an opponent in Roy Williams' 11 years as UNC's head coach. Previous was 39 by Wake Forest on Jan. 11, 2009.

• Carolina tied its season low for turnovers with nine (also against Holy Cross and UAB).

• The win was the 2,097 in Carolina history. The Tar Heels need three wins to become the third school with at least 2,100 wins.
