• Freshman point guard Marcus Paige scored nine of his 14 points in the second half, including a stretch from 3:20 to 1:36 left in the game in which he scored seven consecutive UNC points.

• Carolina was 11 for 21 from three-point range on the night, the second time in as many games and the fourth time in the last six games UNC has made at least 10 threes.

• Villanova out-rebounded Carolina 37-28 in the game.

• Carolina committed 17 turnovers, its highest single-game total since committing 18 at Texas on Dec. 19, 2012 (24 games ago).  The Tar Heels committed 10 first-half turnovers, which was more than they had committed in any of their three ACC Tournament games last weekend.

• The win on Friday was the 700th in the career of UNC head coach Roy Williams.  He is the fourth active coach to reach 700 victories and the fastest active coach to do so (in 879 games).  Williams' record is 700-179 in 25 seasons.

• Williams improves to 23-0 in his first NCAA game of a Tournament.  He is now 62-20 overall in the NCAA Tournament, including 28-6 at Carolina.

• Carolina is 11-4 all-time against Villanova, including 5-1 in NCAA Tournament action.

• The win was Carolina's 25th of the season, marking the 34th 25-win season in UNC history.  The Tar Heels have won 25 or more seven times in Williams' 10 seasons in Chapel Hill and the sixth in the last seven years.
