Carolina Postgame Notes vs. Louisville
Release: 09/15/2012
• North Carolina fell to 1-2 overall with a 39-34 loss to Louisville. The Tar Heels are 3-4 all-time against Louisville. Carolina is now 16-5 against non-conference teams since 2008.

• Redshirt freshman tailback Romar Morris posted a career-high 202 all-purpose yards. He had 149 yards receiving, 23 yards rushing and 30 yards on kick returns. He also blocked a punt in the fourth quarter, which led to a Carolina touchdown on the next play. Morris is the first Tar Heel to block a punt since Bruce Carter blocked one at Rutgers in 2010.

• Morris became the first Tar Heel running back with a 100-yard receiving game since Anthony Elzy had 178 in 2010 vs. NC State. Morris caught five passes for 149 yards and scored on a 44-yard wheel route down the sideline and a 50-yard catch-and-run that pulled the Tar Heels to within five with 4:23 remaining.

• QB Bryn Renner tied the UNC single-game record with five touchdowns, a mark he shares with Darian Durant (at Arizona State, 2002) and Kevin Anthony (vs. Wake Forest, 1985). Renner finished with 363 yards and completed 26 of 41 attempts. He had a career-high 42 pass attempts in last year's Independence Bowl vs. Missouri.

• Renner moved into a tie with Chris Keldorf on the UNC career TD list with 35. Renner's previous single-game high in touchdown passes was four vs. ECU in 2011. Renner has thrown for three or more touchdowns in four of his last five games, including the last two games of 2011 (Duke, Missouri) and the Elon and Louisville games in 2012.

• Renner moved past two former Tar Heels to move into sixth place in career passing yards at UNC with 3,970. He passed Chris Keldorf (3,795) and Matt Kupec (3,840).

• Renner now has 303 career completions and has passed Kevin Anthony (296) and Mike Thomas (302) to move into seventh place in UNC history.

• PK Casey Barth converted all four of his PAT attempts on the day. Carolina has made 135 consecutive extra points and Barth has made a school-record 97 in a row. Barth has made 131 extra points, which is two shy of tying Jeff Hayes for the UNC record.

• TE Eric Ebron recorded his first career two-touchdown game with a 2-yard scoring reception in the third quarter and a 5-yard catch in the fourth.

• True freshman wide receiver Quinshad Davis finished with a season-high four catches for 41 yards. He entered Saturday's game with two receptions for 32 yards.

• Junior linebacker Tommy Heffernan made his first start of the season and posted a career-high 12 tackles and recorded his first career sack when he brought down Teddy Bridgewater 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage in the third quarter.

• OG Jonathan Cooper started his 38th career game Saturday, most among active offensive linemen in the ACC and fifth-most among all current ACC players.
