Carolina Announces Spring Football Events
Release: 03/03/2014

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - With North Carolina's Blue Dawn winter workouts in the rear view mirror, the Tar Heels are set to start spring football practice on Wednesday, March 5.  The Tar Heels will conduct 15 spring practices, including open scrimmages in Charlotte (March 28) and Greensboro (April 4) and the annual Spring Game at Kenan Stadium on April 12.

Carolina closed out the 2013 season with wins in six of its last seven games, including a convincing victory over Cincinnati in the Belk Bowl.  The Tar Heels return nine starters on offense, seven on defense and both the place-kicker and punter.  Tickets are currently on sale for the 2014 season.

"We're looking forward to returning to the practice field," said third-year head coach Larry Fedora.  "The guys have put in a lot of work in the weight room and in conditioning drills with Coach Hernandez and our Blue Dawn program.  Now, it's time to get back on the field and build on what we've done during the winter workouts.

"We have a lot of events open to the public throughout the state and I hope our fans can come out and enjoy seeing this group of Tar Heels develop and improve this spring."
