Talented veteran who will compete for a starting linebacker job this fall after a breakout sophomore season. 

2012 – Sophomore Season
Finished fourth on the team with 73 tackles, including 38 solo stops • Also fourth on the team in tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (3.0) • Appeared in 11 games and started nine at weakside linebacker before missing the season finale due to injury • Recorded at least four tackles in 10 of his 11 games, including double-digit stops on three occasions • Had five tackles and a tackle for loss at Virginia • Had one of his most productive games of the season against Georgia Tech, finishing with 11 tackles (seven solo), 2.0 tackles for loss and a 6-yard sack • Tallied seven stops and a forced fumble in the win over NC State • Registered a career-high 14 tackles in the loss at Duke • Playing in his home of south Florida for the first time, had six primary tackles and a 6-yard sack in the win at Miami • Had four stops and 1.5 tackles for loss in the win over Virginia Tech • Registered four tackles and a tackle for loss in the Idaho win • Also had four stops and broke up a pass in the East Carolina victory • Hit double figures for the first time in his career with 13 tackles, including nine solo, 1.5 tackles for loss and a 10-yard sack at Louisville • Finished with four tackles, a pass breakup and 0.5 tackles for loss in the season opener against Elon.

2011 – Redshirt Freshman Season
Played in six games and saw extensive playing time at linebacker in the first two games of the season against James Madison and Rutgers • Broke up a pass and posted three tackles in a 24-22 victory vs. the Scarlet Knights • Had two primary stops in Carolina’s 42-10 win over James Madison • Joined the team as a walk-on linebacker in 2010 and earned a scholarship for 2011 • Redshirted in 2010.

Christopher Columbus High School
Played linebacker for Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Fla. • Led team in tackles junior and senior year with 82 in 2008 and 88 in 2009 • Was second team all-city (includes all Miami-Dade) as a junior and senior • Played in Miami-Dade vs. Broward Nike all-star game • Played in All-American Aloha Prep Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii • Played in team USA vs. The World all-star game on NFL network • Voted team MVP senior year • Elected vice president of the Student Activities Committee for the student body as a senior • Played for coach Chris Merritt.
