2011 – Junior Season
Played in all 13 games and started against Missouri in the Independence Bowl • Finished the regular season with 21 tackles • Was named the coaches’ special teams player of the week after the James Madison and Wake Forest games • Had at least one special teams tackle in eight of the 12 games • Had a career-high six tackles, including a 4-yard tackle for loss, in a 37-21 win over Duke • Saw his most significant playing time on defense against the Blue Devils • Had one special teams tackle against NC State • Named the coaches’ special teams player of the week after posting four tackles on kickoff returns in a 49-24 win over Wake Forest • Also played as a reserve safety • Played one of his best games with four special teams tackles against Clemson’s explosive Sammy Watkins in a 59-38 loss to the Tigers • Had one special teams tackle in a 30-24 loss to Miami • Recorded one tackle in a 28-17 victory vs. Virginia • Had one tackle in a 24-22 victory vs. Rutgers • Posted one special teams tackle against James Madison in the season-opening win.

2010 – Sophomore Season
Standout walk-on player who played in every game in 2010 and was named the team’s MVP on special teams • Finished the regular season with eight tackles, including six primary stops • Made a season-high three tackles in the win over East Carolina • Had one tackle and forced a fumble in the win over Clemson • Posted two tackles at Duke and had one each vs. NC State and William & Mary • Earned ESPN Academic All-District honors.

2009 – Freshman Season
Played in six games on special teams in 2009, including the Meineke Car Care Bowl vs. Pittsburgh.

Leesville High School
Played football at Leesville High School in Raleigh, N.C., where he lettered three times and was named all-conference each year • Was the team’s MVP as a senior and the Defensive Player of the Year • Was featured on News Channel 17’s “Play of the State” twice in 2007 • Served as team captain • Started every game during his varsity career • Ran track and made the state championship finals in the 300m hurdles • Was team MVP on the track team as a senior • Was a regional finalist in the 100m/300m hurdles and 4x400m relay team three years • Member of the National Honor Society and a four-year member of the honor roll.
