Has been Carolina's starting punter for three seasons and will compete for all-conference honors in 2014 • Should become just the fourth punter in UNC history to lead the team in punting average for four consecutive seasons - Charlie Justice (1946-49), Scott McAlister (1988-91) and David Wooldridge (2003-06) are the others.
2014 - Senior Season
Punted five times for a 38.8-yard average in the win over San Diego State • Placed three of his five kicks inside the 20 with a long punt of 50 yards • Finished with six punts and a 39.8-yard average in the season opener against Liberty • Three kicks were downed inside the 20 and three were fair caught • Also had a 64-yard free kick following a safety • Named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List prior to the season.
2013 - Junior Season
Earned All-ACC honorable mention accolades after finishing the season with a 43.0-yard average on 65 punts, 25 of which were downed inside the 20 • Ranked fourth in the ACC and 28th in the country in punting average • Had 12 punts end with a fair catch and had just six touchbacks • Booted four punts for 177 yards (44.2 average), including a long of 59 yards, in the Belk Bowl victory over Cincinnati • Three of his four punts against the Bearcats were downed inside the 20-yard line • Had one of the best games of his career against Duke, punting four times for a 46.2-yard average and three punts down inside the 20 • Had three punts fair caught, three downed inside the 20 and two go for at least 50 yards in the win at Pitt • Punted four times for a 41.5-yard average in the Virginia win • Placed four of eight punts inside the 20 in the win over NC State • Punted seven times for a 45.3-yard average and a career-long punt of 76 yards in the win over Boston College • Punted five times for a 43.8-yard average against Miami • Averaged a season-high 45.7 yards per punt at Virginia Tech • Had his best game of the season so far at Georgia Tech, punting five times for a 45.4-yard average with a pair of kicks downed inside the Tech 10 • Punted four times for a 42.5-yard average with one fair catch and a long kick of 49 yards in the win over Middle Tennessee • Opened the season with six punts for a 40.3-yard average and a pair of kicks inside the 20 at No. 6 South Carolina.
2012 - Sophomore Season
Earned second-team All-ACC honors from both the media and the coaches • Punted in all 12 games, averaging 43.0 yards per punt on 50 kicks, an average that ranked second in the ACC and No. 25 in the country • Had a long of 60 yards, 14 punts of 50 yards or more, 19 downed inside the 20 and 10 that were fair caught • Only three of his 50 punts went for touchbacks, and opponents averaged just 4.9 yards per return with a long of just 18 yards • Averaged at least 40 yards per punt in 10 of 12 games with a high mark of 51.7 yards in the Georgia Tech game • Also served as the holder on extra points and field goals • In addition to helping Carolina go a perfect 56 for 56 on PATs, also tossed for a two-point conversion on four occasions • Punted five times for a 44.8-yard average with two going 50+ yards in the season finale against Maryland • Had four punts for a 43.5-yard average and two fair catches in the win at Virginia • Punted a season-high nine times for a 41.2-yard average with three downed inside the 20 in the win over NC State • Also booted a season-long 60-yarder against the Wolfpack and connected with Jack Tabb on a pair of two-point conversions • Had a 45.0-yard average in four punts at Duke • Punted four times for a 43.2-yard average with three downed inside the 20 in the win at Miami • Also hit Eric Ebron for a two-point conversion that ultimately helped prevent the Hurricanes from being able to attempt a tying field goal late in the game • Avergaed 44.2 yards per punt on four kicks with a long of 60 yards and two downed inside the 20 against East Carolina • Punted five times with a 47.0-yard average and three kicks over 50 yards at Wake Forest • Averaged 38.0 yards on two punts with one fair catch and one downed inside the 20 in the season opener against Elon.
2011 - Freshman Season
Punted in 12 of 13 games • Set an Independence Bowl record with a 48.8-yard punting average vs. Missouri and downed three punts inside the 20-yard line • Punted four times for 195 yards and had a 56-yarder and a 54-yarder against the Tigers • Had 51 punts for 1,999 yards, an average of 39.2 per punt • Posted a long of 56 yards, had three touchbacks, 14 fair catches and downed 16 inside the 20-yard line • Had seven punts more than 50 yards • Punted five times for a 43.8-yard average and a long of 53 against Duke • Punted four times for a 27.5-yard average at Virginia Tech in cold conditions • Had three punts for a 31.7-yard average in a win over Wake Forest • Posted five punts for a 40.2-yard average, including a 49 yarder at Clemson • Punted four times for a 34.0-yard average vs. Miami • Punted six times for a 40.8-yard average, including a long of 52 yards vs. Louisville • Had four punts for a 36.8-yard average, including a 44 yards, at East Carolina • Punted four times for a 38.5-yard average at Georgia Tech • Had a season-high seven punts in a win vs. Virginia, including a 42.0-yard average • Had a 38.3-yard average on three punts in a win over Rutgers • Punted just twice in his first career game vs. James Madison for 88 yards (44.0 average), including a long of 46.
Butler High School
Attended Citrus High School in Inverness, Fla. and Butler High School in Matthews, N.C. • Lettered four years in baseball and three in football • Also played soccer as a freshman • Played third base and pitcher on the baseball team • Punted and played quarterback on the football team • Averaged 50.2 yards per punt as a senior • As a senior, earned all-county, all-conference, all-region and all-state honors at punter.
