2011 – Sophomore Season
Steady performer who started all 13 games at defensive end • Finished the regular season with 40 tackles, seven tackles for losses, four sacks, one fumble recovery for 10 yards, six pass breakups and five quarterback hurries • Recorded four tackles vs. Missouri in the Independence Bowl • Recovered a fumble and returned it 10 yards in the 37-21 win over Duke • Also had two tackles, including one for a loss, and broke up a pass against the Blue Devils • Had two tackles at NC State • Assisted on a tackle for loss in a 49-24 win over Wake Forest • Broke up a pass and had three tackles in a 59-38 loss to Clemson • Had three tackles, including a half sack and a tackle for loss, in a 30-24 loss to Miami • Posted four tackles, including a sack, and broke up a pass in a 14-7 victory over Louisville • Recorded a quarterback pressure in a 35-20 victory at East Carolina • Had seven tackles in a loss at Georgia Tech • Recorded three tackles, assisted on a sack and had a quarterback pressure in a 28-17 victory vs. Virginia • Led the team with eight tackles, including two tackles for losses and a 3-yard sack, in a 24-22 win vs. Rutgers • Also broke up a pass and had two quarterback hurries • Was named the team’s defensive player of the game for his performance vs. the Scarlet Knights • Carolina limited the Scarlet Knights to just one yard rushing, the fewest by an opponent since 2000 • Recorded a 6-yard sack and had three total tackles in a 42-10 win over James Madison.

2010 – Freshman Season
Played in 11 games and started three as a true freshman • Started the first three games of the year vs. LSU, Georgia Tech and Rutgers • Finished the regular season with 16 tackles, including seven primary stops and nine assists • Also had 1.5 tackles for losses, one pass breakup and two quarterback pressures • Posted one tackle vs. Virginia Tech and William & Mary • Posted three tackles at Miami • Had two tackles in the 44-10 win at Virginia • Had a 2-yard tackle for loss and a quarterback pressure in the 21-16 win vs. Clemson • Broke up a pass against ECU • Had one tackle at Rutgers • Registered a season-high five tackles vs. Georgia Tech • Started his first career game vs. LSU in the Georgia Dome and had two tackles.  

Roanoke Rapids High School
Ranked the No. 5 prospect in North Carolina by The Charlotte Observer • Is Rivals.com’s No. 28 weakside defensive end prospect in the country • Ranked the No. 34 defensive end in the country by Scout.com • Member of North Carolina’s Shrine Bowl Team • Had eight tackles in the Shrine Bowl, including one for a loss, recovered two fumbles and forced a fumble which led to a touchdown, to earn MVP honors for the North Carolina defense • Member of the Scout300 • Named first-team all-state by NCpreps.com • Finished his senior season with 163 tackles, 10 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four sacks and one interception • Also had 25 tackles for a loss of 101 yards • Twice named the area defensive player of the year and was the Northern Carolina Conference lineman of the year in 2009 • Helped lead Roanoke Rapids to an undefeated season and a conference title •  Had 121 tackles and five sacks as a junior • Coached by Russell Weinstein • Also played basketball.
