2012: As a senior, played in all 25 games, starting four ... Scored four goals and added three assists ... Named to the All-ACC Academic Team

2011: As a junior, played in 23 games and started three ... Finished the year with five goals on just seven shots ... Was one-for-one on penalty strokes ... With  23 seconds to play in the NCAA semifinal game, tipped in a ball to tie the score at 3-3. The Tar Heels went on to win the game in overtime ... Recipient of the Dawson Family Most Improved Player Award for 2011-12

2010: As a sophomore, played in 23 games and scored two goals, against Wake Forest (at home on Oct. 2) and against Connecticut at B.C.

2009: As a redshirt freshman, came off the bench to appear in 10 games ... Scored the first goal of her career in the Sept. 8 game at Davidson, near her hometown of Charlotte

2008: Did not see action and counted the year as a redshirt season

Before UNC: At Charlotte Country Day, was an NFHCA All-South Region selection as a senior ... Helped her team to state titles in her sophomore and senior years ... Team captain and MVP as a senior ... All-state her junior and senior years and all-conference sophomore through senior years ... Charlotte Weekly Field Hockey Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007 ... Also played soccer and basketball, finishing high school with 11 varsity letters ... Her soccer team won a state title her sophomore year ... All-state and team captain as a senior ... Also captain of the basketball team her senior year ... Recipient of her school's Victora Ludorum Award as the school's top senior female athlete

National/International: Played for Junior Mid-Atlantic National Team in 2010 and the South Region Team in 2012 ... Futures coach in 2011 and 2012 ... Participated in the Futures program her freshman through senior years of high school, at the National Futures Championship 2006-08 ... Played for the PH Strikers U-19 National Festival Team, a two-time pool winner

More on Plyler: Born June 6, 1990, in Charlotte ... Daughter of Missy and Bill Plyler ... Has two younger siblings ... Her father played golf at UNC, earning All-ACC honors in 1982 and helping the Tar Heels to a conference title in 1983 ... Her grandfather, Buzzy Basinger, also played golf at UNC and won the ACC individual championship in 1956 ... A cousin, Bob Matheson, was an All-America football player at  Duke University and went on to play for the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins ... Her sister, Caroline, also plays field hockey for UNC
