Parks Jordan reached base in all five of his plate appearances Wednesday night as he walked three times and tallied a pair of single, including a two-run single in the eighth inning.
The Tar Heels overcame an early 1-0 deficit for the second consecutive night thanks to a six-run second inning when Carolina sent 10 batters to the plate. Moran delivered the big hit in the inning when he hit a three-run triple to left center to push the Tar Heel lead to 6-1 after two innings.
North Carolina tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth inning after a leadoff triple for Frank — his fourth of the season. UNC went on to put up two 3-run frames in the bottom of the fifth and eighth innings, along with a one-run performance in the seventh to quiet Elon.
Trevor Kelley earned his second win of the year in his three innings pitched, in which he gave up just two hits and no runs.
The Tar Heels advance to a home ACC series against Duke that begins Friday at 7 p.m.
