No. 1 North Carolina (23-1, 7-1 ACC) will host a three-game conference series at Boshamer Stadium this weekend when the Tar Heels welcome in Clemson (16-9, 5-4 ACC) Saturday through Monday.
The series will open Saturday night under the lights with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Junior left-hander Kent Emanuel (4-1, 1.17 ERA) will take the mound against sophomore right-hander Daniel Gossett (3-1, 1.33 ERA).
Sunday's contest will be televised live on the Regional Sports Network with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. The Tar Heels will send sophomore right-hander Benton Moss (6-0, 1.89 ERA) to the mound against freshman right-hander Clate Schmidt (2-0, 4.05 ERA).
Monday's series finale will be Carolina's first nationally-televised game of the year as ESPNU will show the contest between junior southpaw Hobbs Johnson (0-0, 3.48 ERA) and a yet to be determined starter for the Tigers.
Fans attending the Saturday night contest will be treated to a new addition at Boshamer Stadium as postgame fireworks will take place in center field.
The second edition of the Carolina Baseball Trading Card set will be available to fans who attend the Saturday contest and kids will have the chance to take the field with the Tar Heels on Saturday as well.
One of the newest additions to Boshamer Stadium will be back again this weekend as the third base concession area will feature a $10 tailgate special. This weekend's menu includes ribs and brisket with potato salad, baked beans and a drink.
