25 Cody Stubbs

General
Provides a power presence from the left side of the plate • His 19 doubles ranked second on the team in 2012 • Will start the season as the starting first baseman for the second straight season.

Junior (2012)
Appeared in 62 games with 62 starts, 56 at first base, four as designated hitter and two in the outfield • Posted a .258 (60-233) average with 39 runs scored and 35 RBIs, tied for third-highest on the team • Tallied 19 doubles to rank second on the team and knocked in a team-high five home runs • Stole an efficient six bases in seven attempts • Finished third on the team with 94 total bases • Drove in a season-high five runs and tallied two hits, including a home run, against Boston College (5/4) • Registered a pair of doubles in five games over the season, including back-to-back games against Wright State (5/24, 5/25) • Scored three runs and tallied two hits and two RBIs against Xavier (2/18) • Knocked in two ACC homeruns, one apiece against NC State (3/24) and Boston College (5/4) • Drove in three runs and scored two on two hits, including another homer, against Coastal Carolina (3/28) • Tallied three hits, two of which were doubles, and three RBIs against Virginia Tech (5/17).

Walters State Community College
Drafted in the 14th round (427th) by the Washington Nationals • Played for Ken Campbell at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn. • Led the team with a .403 average (79-196) • Started 56 games for the senators • Scored 56 runs and drove in a team-high 75 RBI • Tallied a team-high 17 home runs on the year to rank among the top home run hitters in the country • Slugged .776 on the year with 36 extra base hits (16 doubles, 3 triples, 17 home runs) • Helped the Senators to a 43-15 mark. Summer 2011: Appeared in 11 games for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League • Was 3-for-27 with a home run and three RBI.

University Of Tennessee
Appeared in 46 games with 21 starts for the Volunteers as a freshman • Hit .241 (26-108) with 20 runs scored and 13 RBI • Tallied three doubles and three home runs while drawing 19 walks, the most among the non full time starters • Committed just one error in 129 chances playing mostly at first base. Summer 2010: Played in 25 games with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League • Was 12-for-72 with four runs and eight RBI.

Tuscola High School
Drafted in the 29th round (888th) by the Boston Red Sox • Graduated from Tuscola High School in Tuscola, N.C., where he was coached by Caleb McConnell • Played both baseball and basketball in high school • Lettered all four years in baseball and served as the team captain in both his junior and senior campaigns • Also lettered twice in basketball • Posted team highs with a .439 batting average, 16 home runs, two triples and 39 RBIs as a senior in 2009 • Claimed 2008 conference player of the year accolades and was a two-time all-conference selection • Was ranked by PGCrosschecker.com as one of the top 350 overall prospects in the country • Was also tabbed as the No. 9-ranked overall prospect and the top first baseman in the state of North Carolina • Competed in the summer of 2008 in the East Pro Showcase and Area Code tryouts • Was a member of the 2007 USA Baseball Youth National Team.

Roland Campbell Stubbs IV is the son of Cam Stubbs and Jan Maxey • Born Jan. 14, 1991 in Alpharetta, Ga. • Mother played tennis at Vanderbilt and father played baseball for the Commodores • Majoring in history at Carolina.
