General
Emerged as the Sunday starter late last year after making just six appearances as a freshman • Competitor on the mound who attacks hitters • Will open the season as the Sunday starter. 

Sophomore (2012)
Appeared in 22 games with seven starts, posting a 1.56 ERA • Registered a 7-1 mark after becoming a fixture in the starting rotation in April and May • Opponents hit just .179 against him on the season, the lowest average on the team • Threw 57.2 innings, allowing 10 earned runs • Struck out 69 batters to rank third on the team, while only walking 24 • Earned four wins in a row from May 2-19, including two ACC wins against Boston College (5/6) and Virginia Tech (5/19) • Struck out a career-high 10 against Virginia Tech (5/19) • Gave up just two hits and walked none in that same matchup against the Hokies • Picked up his first NCAA victory against Cornell (6/1) • Pitched for five innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out five in his postseason debut.

Freshman (2011)
Appeared in six games and has yet to allow a run in his college career • Threw 3.2 innings out of the bullpen • Allowed four hits on the season • Struck out six, while walking just one • Threw an inning in his first collegiate appearance, his longest outing of the season, and struck out a pair against Stony Brook (3/5) • Also threw an inning at NC State (4/17) • Struck out a pair against UNC Wilmington (3/22).

Played for coach Pat Smith at Rocky Mount High School • Lefty with outstanding delivery and polished stuff • Has won big games in high school and summer ball • Rated as the No. 9 prospect in North Carolina by Impact Baseball and the No. 10 player in the state by Perfect Game • Also ranked No. 319 nationally by Perfect Game • Two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection • Three-time team MVP • Named the 2008 WWBA Pitching MVP • Also played basketball, football and soccer • Three-year member of the "A-B" honor roll.
