UNC opened play in 2002 in its new home at Williams Field at Eugene A. Anderson Stadium, and the Tar Heels officially dedicated their new stadium with a 4-2 win over Georgia Tech on April 23, 2006. Located just off of UNC’s campus on Raleigh Road, the stadium is easily accessible with plenty of parking for fans.

Carolina hosted the first ever NCAA Regional at Anderson Stadium in 2008 while setting a school record for wins with a 50-12-1 that season. UNC also hosted an NCAA Regional in 2009, as well as hosting the ACC Tournament in 2006 and 2012.

Named for Eugene A. Anderson and Cheryl and Ken Williams, the 50,000 square foot facility has a seating capacity of 500 with a mix of stadium seating bleacher seats. There is additional standing room for another 100 fans above the stadium seats. A perennial top-25 team, the Tar Heels regularly fill up the stands for the annual Carolina Classic tournament in February as well as for exciting weekend ACC series and mid-week games throughout the season.

A brick Circle of Donors is in place on the stadium concourse, honoring the many Carolina softball donors and Home Run Club members. The team building features a top-of-the-line locker room, on-site training room, coaches’ offices, equipment room and a spacious and fully furnished team room. The Wall of Honor inside the team building showcases Carolina’s eight All-Americas as well as the Tar Heels’ numerous conference and regional award recipients, and a trophy case features UNC’s numerous coaching and player awards over the years. Bullpens, batting cages and a separate practice field are also featured at the complex.

  2. Follow Highway 54 into Chapel Hill
  3. Drive under 15-501

WILLIAMS FIELD AT ANDERSON STADIUM POLICIES

No Smoking:
Per UNC policy, smoking is not permitted within 100 feet of any campus building, including Anderson Stadium.

Announcements:
Public Address announcements will be used only in the event of emergencies. Contact an event operations staff member with your needs.

Alcohol and Weapons:
Bringing intoxicating beverages and/or weapons into Anderson Stadium at any time is prohibited. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at Williams Field at Anderson Stadium.

ATM:
There is no ATM located at Anderson Stadium. The nearest ATM is located at the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union about 1/2 of a mile from the main gates of Williams Field at Anderson Stadium.

Banners/Signs:
Homemade banners and signs are not allowed inside Anderson Stadium without prior Athletic Departmental approval.

Behavior Policy:
The University of North Carolina wants its fans to be known for their support, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. We want to create a home-field advantage, but we want to do so in a respectful manner that makes us all proud to be Tar Heels. Event staff reserves the right to deem an act or behavior to be inappropriate based on available information and to take whatever action necessary to maintain the integrity of the contest.

Disability Seating:
Seating for patrons with disabilities is available on game day by asking for the game operations supervisor.

First Aid:
First aid is located at the press box on the main concourse. South Orange Rescue Squad Emergency Medical units are on duty for select events.

Food/Concessions:
Guests are not allowed to bring in outside food or beverages, with the exception of unopened water, into Anderson Stadium. You will be asked to finish the item(s) before entering, throw them out, or return them to your car. A concession stand is located on the concourse and offers a wide variety of snacks, hot foods, and beverages. Alcohol is neither sold nor permitted at Anderson Stadium. Medical exceptions may be made at the discretion of Event Management Staff.

Lost and Found:
Lost and found is located at the Press Box on the main course during the event, please contact an event operations staff member in the case that an item is lost.

Restrooms:
A Men’s and a Women’s Restroom are located on the main concourse of Anderson Stadium.

  • Food and beverages, except sealed plastic water bottles

  • Pets (except service animals assisting those with disabilities)
  • Weapons of any kind, including those carried with a permit
  • Any other item that in the judgment of game management staff poses a safety hazard or detracts from the ability of others to enjoy the event Prohibited items must be returned to the owner's car or discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest.

    Small purses, fanny packs, diaper bags, camera/binocular cases, and small bags are subject to be inspected prior to entry.
