The North Carolina men's swimming team completed the opening day Thursday at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis. The Tar Heels did not qualify anyone for Thursday's finals but do have multiple entries in the field in Friday's preliminaries.
Carolina's 200-yard freestyle relay finished 27th in a time of 1:19.90. The relay consisted of Logan Heck (20.11), Kyle Ficker (19.92), Nic Graesser (20.10) and Sam Lewis (20.04).
Senior Brett Nagle finished 36th in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:21.81, less than a second off his career best time of 4:21.04.
Senior Tom Luchsinger placed 46th in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 1:46.75 while freshman Logan Heck was 43rd in the 50-yard freestyle at 20.33.
Carolina's 400-yard medley relay finished 23rd in a time of 3:12.20. The relay included Nic Graesser (47.70), Kurt Wohlrab (54.48), Sam Lewis (46.97) and Logan Heck (43.05).
