Miller Receives USFCA Award of Merit

North Carolina fencing coach Ron Miller has been recognized with the Award of Merit by the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association. Peter Burchard, the president of the USFCA, presented Miller with the award on Friday in Richmond, Va.

The honor is given "for Career Contributions To The Coaching And Teaching Of Fencing." Miller is in his 50th season as the coach at UNC.

After the stop in Richmond, it's on to Boston for Miller. His Tar Heels will compete there on Sunday in the Brandeis Invitational. In addition to UNC and host Brandeis, the field includes Boston College, Brown, Cornell, Drew, St. John's and Yale. It's the final competition of 2016 for the Tar Heels.
