CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) announced Wednesday that the 2015 college football kickoff game between the University of North Carolina and the University of South Carolina will be played on Thursday, September 3. Originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 5, the game will now be helping kick off the season on primetime national television.

"We are very excited to kick off the 2015 college football season right here in Charlotte," said Will Webb, Executive Director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation. "Hosting a game between these nationally known programs is tremendous for the city of Charlotte and the entire region. Playing the game on Thursday night to open the season on national television is a great honor. It is also a great chance to once again showcase the city of Charlotte to a national audience. With the local and regional support of college football, especially Tar Heel and Gamecock fans, we are sure to have an electric atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium on September 3."

Kickoff time and ticket information will be released at a later date.
