SACRAMENTO, CALI., - The University of North Carolina was well represented at the U.S.A. Track and Field Outdoor Championships this past weekend. Former and current members of the track and field program were competing in the national event.
Ceo Ways, the only current UNC student-athlete at the Championships, competed in the men's 200-meter dash. Ways qualified for the event by running 20.53 at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Ways finished in 18th among all the participants at 20.93. Ways ran the 200 on Saturday.
Professional Tar Heels
Addie Bracy finished the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:08.01 for 23rd place. Bracy competed on Thursday.
Clayton Parros has competed for the United States at the World Championships in the men's 4x400 relay team. Parros ran in the 400 in Sacramento in 46.26 and finished 18th. Parros ran in the 400 on Thursday.
Brie Felnagle had qualified to run in both the women's 1,500 and 5,000 but did not compete.
RJ Alowonle competed in the Nigerian Athletics Championships Calabar last week. Alowonle ran the 400-meter hurdles in 50.73 and finished second with the first-place finisher running sub-50.
