GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) --- Miami's Dale Carey and North Carolina's Parks Jordan have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Players of the Week, while Clemson's Daniel Gossett picked up ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season.
North Carolina's Jordan hit safely in all five games and finished with 10 hits in 19 at-bats (.526) as the Tar Heels won three games, including a victory over No. 4 Florida State. The Winston-Salem senior started at three different positions during the week - left field, second base and first base - and either scored or drove in a row in all five games. Jordan finished a homer short of the cycle at Elon on Wednesday, driving in three runs in the process. In Sunday's 5-4 win over Florida State, Jordan drove in the fourth run of the day with a single in the fourth and scored the winning run in the seventh when he legged out an infield single and took third on a fly ball.
Jordan and the Tar Heels return to action Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. against Gardner-Webb in Shelby, North Carolina.
