CARY, N.C. - Third-seeded North Carolina will match up against sixth-seeded NC State Friday at 3 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Cary Tennis Park.
The Tar Heels (22-4) received a bye in the first round on Thursday while NC State (17-8) made quick work of Georgia Tech Thursday 4-0 in a first round match.
The two teams fought tooth and nail in the regular-season matchup with Carolina rallying to beat the Wolfpack 4-3 in Raleigh, N.C., on March 14. NC State won the doubles point in that match before singles wins by Brayden Schnur, Ronnie Schneider, Brett Clark and Oystein Steiro allowed the Tar Heels to pull out a 4-3 thriller over NC State.
