Last Home Meet For The Tar Heels

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina track and field teams will host their last home meet of the season this Saturday April 12 at the Joe Hilton Invitational. A special ceremony for the seniors on the team will take place towards the end of the meet to honor their commitment towards the team and celebrate their careers.

The Tar Heels will host Duke, Elon, NC State, Norfolk State, UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest, along with multiple clubs, and several unattached individuals. The meet is only on Saturday and will start at 10 a.m. and conclude close to 5 p.m.

There are two special events scheduled at the Joe Hilton Invitational: the faculty mile and the senior commencement. This will be the second annual faculty mile. Professors from UNC are encouraged to participate. Last year more than 12 professors took part in the event and the men's and women's winner was awarded a trophy. The senior class will be honored before the 4x400 meter relay races. Seniors who will be honored are: Malia Cali, Lianne Farber, Tristine Johnson, Ashley Miess, Devon Carter, Chris DiLorenzo, Nate Fisher, Mike Jacobs, Steve Magnuson, Isaac Presson, Ryan Ramsey, John Raneri, Pat Schellberg, Roy Smith and Matt Valeriani.

A recap of performances and full results will be available on at the end of the meet. A schedule of the meet can be found here and live stats will be provided here. The meet is free to attend and all UNC fans are encouraged to come.
