CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina is set to host No. 23/25 Notre Dame for a doubleheader on Wednesday that will be the two teams' first ACC matchup.
The Tar Heels and Irish will face off at 4 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, which is 90s Night at UNC's Anderson Stadium. Chancellor Carol Folt will be throwing out the first pitch before game one, and admission is free.

Scouting the Matchup:
Carolina is 2-8 all-time against the Irish, but this will be the teams' first meeting in ACC play. The last matchup was in 2012, when Notre Dame topped UNC 9-3 in the Carolina Classic.
North Carolina: The Tar Heels improved to 21-16 and 12-5 in ACC play after sweeping Virginia 3-0 this past weekend on the road. UNC leads the ACC with 46 home runs on the year and ranks ninth in the NCAA with an average of 1.24 per game.
Jenna Kelly is batting .358 with 10 homers for the year, including two grand slams, in addition to 32 RBIs and 27 runs. Kelly leads the ACC with a .478 batting average, 23 RBIs, 1.000 slugging and six homers in conference games. Aquilla Mateen leads the team with a .398 batting average and has 27 runs scored with 15 stolen bases, while Kristen Brown has a team-high 31 runs and 36 RBIs on 36 hits, including nine homers. Lori Spingola is 15-9 with a 2.91 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 139.2 innings in the circle. Lauren Batten is 4-3 with a 3.40 ERA, and Kendra Lynch is 1-4 with a 4.74 ERA.
No. 23 Notre Dame: The Irish, who are 22-8 overall and 3-3 in the ACC, lead the conference and rank 10th in the NCAA with a .334 team batting average. Karley Wester is 16-19 on the base bath and leads Notre Dame with a .392 batting average, 25 runs with 38 hits. Emilee Koerner (.367) has 30 runs, 25 RBIs and seven homers for the year, and Micaela Arizmendi has a team-high 27 RBIs and seven homers as well. Laura Winter is 14-4 in the circle with a 2.06 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 119 innings. Rachel Nasland is 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA, and Allie Rhodes is 4-3 with a 2.49 ERA.
