CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina track and field teams will be split between three meets this weekend. Many of the distance runners will travel to Stanford University to compete in the Stanford Invitational while sprinters and hurdlers will travel to Gainesville, Fla., for the Florida Relays. A few individuals will also compete in High Point this weekend.
The Stanford Invitational will have 114 four-year colleges and nearly 3,300 athletes competing in the two-day event. The Invitational will begin on Friday and conclude Saturday. A total of eight student-athletes will be traveling to the meet. Live results for the Stanford Invitational can be found here.
The Florida Relays will host fellow ACC competitor Georgia Tech, as well as Alabama and Vanderbilt, and of course, Florida. The All-America 4x400 meter relay team will compete for the first time in the outdoor season at the meet. The two-day meet also begins on Friday and concludes Saturday. The Vertklasse Meeting in highpoint will begin at noon on Friday and conclude on Saturday. A schedule for the event can be found here.
