Well, let's see if anything notable happened in the world of Tar Heel basketball last night. Oh, right: Marcus Paige was a beast.
And if you only have time for one:
So, yes, Marcus Paige was pretty incredible, and here's the Adam Lucas postgame column, which is about--surprisingly--Marcus Paige...The Paige vs. T.J. Warren battle was one for the ages...Here's the Storify from the game, with the best reactions...Is there anything better than locker room celebration photos after a big win?
Meant to link this earlier this week. You don't often get to hear from officials, so it's interesting to hear referee Tony Greene's thoughts on Syracuse-Duke, when he ejected Jim Boeheim...Adam Lucas appeared on the Sporting News podcast (interview is in second segment) to talk about the Meredith Stapleton story...Desmond Hubert's contributions are increasing because he's playing to his role...
Signee Joel Berry went on a personal 11-0 run to help Lake Highland Prep to a second straight state title. There's video of Berry in that story that is pretty impressive.
Tar Heels in the NBA
Vince Carter had another big game for Dallas, scoring 17, and Wayne Ellington added 12...Eleven points for Harrison Barnes in a Golden State loss...Eight assists for Kendall Marshall...Eight points and three rebounds for Tyler Zeller...Danny Green scored eight points...
Vince Carter is laughing off J.R. Smith's latest antics, which were directed at Carter (who was 7-for-12 from three-point land in the game in question)...Harrison Barnes was motivated by recent trade rumors...Kendall Marshall is trying to get back on track with the Lakers...
Lee Pace with good insight on how Blue Dawn came about and the unique way Larry Fedora runs the program...
Big game tonight for women's hoops, as they travel to unbeaten Notre Dame...Good to see the 2014 Diamond Heels poster getting some love:
Carolina set a men's swimming school record at the ACC championships:

Women's lacrosse hosts Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on ESPN3, and men's swimming and diving continues competition at the ACC championships in Greensboro. Women's basketball is at Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
Today in Tar Heel history
Big day for Tar Heel birthdays: David Noel, the leader of the very memorable 2006 team, turns 30 (!), and James Worthy, the centerpiece of the 1982 national champions, turns 53.
Couple of video features on that duo. First, Noel dunking on Kentucky. Any play that makes Billy Packer sound that happy must have been spectacular:
And then, a good bio piece with lots of quality highlights of Worthy, which comes from Jerseys in the Rafters:
Michael Kruse is a sportswriter who has moved on to writing about a little bit of everything. But here, he returns to his roots--while also adding in a healthy dose of non-sports insight--in writing about what it's like to be the most marketed 12-year-old basketball player in the world. The answer: it's a little bit scary.
