Tar Heels In The NBA, Jan. 14
Release: 01/14/2014

Box Score of the Week

Ed Davis was a beast for the Memphis Grizzlies in the team's win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. Davis snagged 17 rebounds and added 10 points and three blocked shots to anchor the Memphis defense. Davis and the Grizzlies are 6-4 in their last 10 games and are fighting to get into the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Check out this monster dunk from Davis in the game:

Player on the Rise

Raymond Felton has battled injuries throughout the NBA season so far, and coincidentally, the New York Knicks have struggled. Since returning from a groin injury that sidelined him for six games, Felton and the Knicks are 3-0 including an impressive win over the Miami Heat. In the win over the Heat, Felton was fantastic with 13 points and 14 assists. Felton sliced and diced the Heat defense the entire night and LeBron James took notice.

All Star Voting

Ty Lawson is having the best season of his career but is getting completely overlooked when it comes to voting for the NBA All-Star game. Despite injuries this season to standout guards in the Western Conference such as Kobe Bryant, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul, Lawson isn't even in the top 10 of backcourt players in the West. Lawson is trailing players such as Ricky Rubio and Klay Thompson in voting even though he is third in the conference in assists and sixth in scoring. Lawson has made a strong run of late though as he has recorded a double-double in five of his last six games. Click here to help Lawson become an all star.

Former Teammates Square Off

The Los Angeles Lakers are dropping like a rock in the Western Conference standings, but Kendall Marshall is still playing well. Marshall will square off against one of his former teammates when Tyler Zeller and the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Staples Center Tuesday night. Marshall will also get his first taste of the storied Lakers-Celtics rivalry in the Boston Garden Friday night.
