Chapel Hill, N.C. - Three North Carolina players were named to college football analyst Phil Steele's All-America teams and two rookies were selected to his freshman All-America teams.
Ryan Switzer earned first-team All-America honors at punt returner, tight end Eric Ebron was a second-team pick and defensive end Kareem Martin was a third-team honoree. Switzer was also on the first-team freshman team and offensive guard Caleb Peterson earned second-team freshman All-America honors.
Switzer is the first true freshman to earn first-team All-America honors in school history. He was also named first team by the Football Writers Association of America and Athlon.
The Tar Heels are in Charlotte preparing for the 2014 Belk Bowl against Cincinnati. Kickoff at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 28, is set for 3:25 p.m.
