You don't fully know the Ryan Switzer story until you've read Lee Pace's Extra Points...Here's another bowl projection with Carolina headed to El Paso...You think people could get excited about UNC vs. Georgia in Nashville?...The Music City vs. Ole Miss would be an appealing matchup. P.S.: After perusing nearly a dozen of these bowl projections, there are some that are just completely clueless. Surely you're shocked that there is nonsensical stuff on the internet...

Kareem Martin and Ryan Switzer are the ACC Players of the Week...Larry Fedora and the Tar Heel players know the stakes for the next two weeks...Eric Ebron is a Mackey Award semifinalist...All the Coastal Division scenarios in one place. And before you ask, there is no scenario in which the Tar Heels could win the Coastal, even on a tiebreaker...

Here's the recap of Monday's press conference with the highlights of the media session:

Tar Heels in the NFL

Rough times for Hakeem Nicks in New York...Bruce Carter has taken over playcalling duties for the Dallas defense...Julius Peppers might have found a lost spark in his huge game on Sunday.

Brice Johnson has been a pleasant surprise through three games...Turner has a new plan for televising the Final Four that will include separate channels devoted to specific teams, which sounds great. One question: wouldn't it be easier to just run the participating team's audio broadcast of the radio network?...This is a fairly clear-eyed take on the reasons behind the loss to Belmont...Especially with the current roster makeup, Carolina needs Marcus Paige to be selfish...Have you noticed the giant signs in the risers?...There's a basketball notebook coming up on the site later this morning, so check back.

Tar Heels in the NBA

Wayne Ellington is back from a thigh injury...Raymond Felton is trying to play through a hamstring injury...Another huge day for Ty Lawson (29 points, eight assists) another loss for the Nuggets (115-113 to OKC)...Vince Carter had six points and four rebounds as Dallas won...Marvin Williams (16 and 8) and Harrison Barnes (17 and 5) both played well in Golden State's win over Utah.

Today's games

Today in Tar Heel history

Nov. 19, 1985: Eve Carson would turn 28 years old today. Our thoughts are with her friends and family as they remember her today. Always think of this UNC-Duke game when thinking of her.

Long read

Former Maryland star Len Bias would have turned 50 years old yesterday, which seems virtually impossible, since he's perpetually 20 years old in our minds. The Bill Simmons column linked inside of this story is a good read on what Bias meant.
