NEW YORK, N.Y. - University of North Carolina sophomore Brett Clark fell in the second round of singles Friday in the 2013 United States Tennis Association/ Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
Clark, a sophomore from Naples, Fla., dropped a three-set match to Winston Lin of Columbia University in the Round of 16 of the tournament by a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
The Tar Heel sophomore fell to 16-5 on the fall season with the singles loss. The match ended a brilliant fall run by Clark, who went into the 2013 fall season unranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Lin, of the host school Columbia, was the tournament's #7 singles seed and ranked 54th-ranked nationally by the ITA.
All action this weekend is being played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow, N.Y.
