NEW YORK, N.Y. - University of North Carolina sophomore Brett Clark will begin play Thursday in singles action at the 2013 United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
The annual championship is being held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Clark, who received an at-large singles invitation to the tournament, will play Malte Stropp of Mississippi State University in the Round of 32 in the tournament. Match time for Clark is 7 p.m. Thursday.
The tournament is being hosted by Columbia University.
Clark finished as the runner-up in the 2013 ITA Carolinas Regional singles tournament last month. Clark is 15-4 in singles play this fall. This is the second straight year UNC has had a player in the singles field. Junior Esben Hess-Olesen played in the tournament last year.
