NEW ORLEANS – The North Carolina men's cross country team dropped five spots in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll on Tuesday to be ranked No. 18 in the nation.
The men's team is also fell from the No. 1 spot in the Southeast Region to rank No. 2 following a heated weekend of competition at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational. The Tar Heels finished 11th in that meet ahead of one other top-30 team.
Much of the changes in the national and regional polls came from the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind., where the NCAA Championships will be held November 23rd.
Carolina will take the trails next at the ACC Championships in Kernersville, N.C. on Friday, November 1st.
