CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In keeping with pre-game tradition, members of the North Carolina football team visited patients at UNC Children's Hospital on Friday afternoon. A group of football student-athletes always makes the short walk up to the hospital on Fridays before home games, and the visit inevitably proves to be a highlight both for the players and the children they visit.
"It made our day," said the mother of a child the team visited. "It was a rough start to our day and the Carolina football team turned it around. Keep up the great work bringing joy to sick kids."
Players who participated in Friday's visit were Alex Bales, Allen Champagne, A.J. Blue, Shakeel Rashad, Myers Colvin, John Ferranto, Clint Heaven, Joe Jackson, Jarrod James, Arien Smith, Nathan Staub, Eric Albright, Ian Dibble and Blake Bozymski.
The Tar Heels host East Carolina Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
